ProLink GPS added to carts on both championship golf courses

SAN ANTONIO, TX - The Westin La Cantera Resort has outfitted all golf carts on The Resort Course ProLink Solutions GPS. They display pinpoint-accurate distances to the hole, as well as vibrant and easy-to-understand graphics of the fairways and greens’ hazards and contours. They provide better navigating of the courses and take the guesswork out of the game, while aiding golfers’ with shot selections and, in turn, improving the pace of play. Other features include ordering food and beverage at the touch of a button while on the course, as well as personal scoring and tournament leader boards.

”We are very excited about having the ProLink GPS system at both of our courses”, said Steve Shields, Director of Golf at The Westin La Cantera Resort. “The GPS feature will enhance the golfers experience on our courses.”

Designed by golf legend and award-winning course designer Arnold Palmer, the 6,926-yard, par-71 Palmer Course at La Cantera is set in the stunning terrain of the Texas Hill Country. Palmer and his design team artfully routed the layout through the property’s highest points and around stately limestone rock outcroppings. The neighboring Tom Weiskopf, Jay Morrish-designed Resort Course at La Cantera, home to PGA Tour’s Valero Texas Open, is a 7,001-yard, par-72 course that winds through the carved walls of a limestone quarry and is known for its breathtaking views and elevation changes. The most famous being the sheer, 80-foot drop from the 7th tee to the fairway.

Set atop one of San Antonio’s highest points, The Westin La Cantera Resort was built on the site of an abandoned limestone rock quarry, which translated in Spanish give the resort its name, the rock quarry – “la cantera”. The Westin La Cantera Resort features 36 holes of championship golf, a state-of-the-art- golf academy, 508 guestrooms, a secluded Casita Village, five outdoor pools, two hot tubs, the Westin Kids Club, a full cardio and weight fitness center and a full array of spa services.
