SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Westin La Cantera Hill Country Resort announces the completion of its WestinWORKOUT® fitness studio. Driven by evolving fitness trends and the goal of promoting well-being in travel, the resort transformed its fitness facility into an environment for renewal and a well-rounded fitness experiences.
The fitness studio features all new Life Fitness® equipment with individual video monitors, Philips blue-light therapy, textural woven flooring, full size “Step Up” wall mural and built-in entry millwork to house guests’ workout essentials, such as water and towels. The fitness studio at the Westin La Cantera stands out from other hotel workout facilities because of its spacious open floor plan and unique location. Perched above the main pool area, with floor to ceiling windows that provide sweeping hill country views, the 7,600 sq. ft. studio is designed to provide a well-rounded, holistic fitness experience, including zones for cardio, stretching and yoga.
“We are committed to providing a positive well-being environment to our guests”, said Westin La Cantera Resort General Manager, Stuart Meyerson. “The new fitness studio provides the perfect setting and tools our guests need to meet their goals while traveling and the space is a wonderful enhancement to the property”, adds Meyerson.
CUSTOMIZED LIGHTING: BLUE-LIGHT BOOST
In line with the Westin global fitness program, The Westin La Cantera Hill Country Resort included ActiViva lighting by Philips. This new cutting-edge blue light technology uses energizing fluorescent lighting to positively influence wellbeing and help guests feel more alert, awake and energized in targeted workout areas such as the cardio zone. Additionally, the lighting is customized in all workout zones to coincide with the type of activity taking place in specific areas of the fitness studio.
DESIGN AESTHETIC: GO NATURAL
The design elements of the fitness studio are in perfect harmony with the Texas Hill Country views and natural setting guests’ enjoy while at The Westin La Cantera Hill Country Resort. The Westin Design Team took a departure from the typical hotel gym aesthetic of mirrored walls and black rubber flooring and chose more natural, soft-tone colors and textural materials, which deliver a perfect synergy with the natural surroundings at the resort.

The Westin La Cantera Hill Country Resort also participates in the recently announced partnership between Westin® Hotels & Resorts and New Balance®.
